dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study is to attempt a bibliometric analysis of M.Phil. Dissertations awarded from Department of Library & Information Science, University of Calcutta. Total 136 M.Phil. dissertations were awarded covering the period from 2004 to 2016. These selected dissertations considered for the present study have been analyzed based on session wise distribution of dissertations and citations, guidance pattern and subject. The study shows the positive growth of dissertations in a number of areas and the most preferred research areas done on the topics are Community Information Services, Information Communication Technology and Bibliometrics.
